I was working on a smart-device project and for some reason I had to uninstall and reinstall the smart-device programmability. So I started with VS.NET by around 5PM in the evening and the uninstall was very fast. The installation however went on for more than 2 hours (for 1 single functionality). Bored with the time it was taking, I just moved the dialog boxes of the installer around for fun and guess what?? VS.NET was waiting for me to insert Disk-1 with a dialog cleanly hidden behind all open windows!!!!!

What was waste of time it was. Can't understand why this dialog should be pushed back in the stack of windows. By anyways, bottom line is: Keep moving around the VS.NET installer dialogs around during an install to see what VS.NET is prompting you!! :-)

First Blog

Hmmmm, its interesting to start blogging again. I used to blog at an earlier location before, but after I heard about this new site, well, I'm here!!

Just a bit of an introduction. I hail from Bangalore (the silicon valley of India), India and work for a software company called SCT Software Solutions. I was awarded the MVP title in 2003 and this prompted me to start my own web site. You can visit this site at: http://www32.brinkster.com/srisamp.

I'm currently a Product Development Manager in my organization and programming is my hobby. I frequent the SQL Server newsgroups quite often and also regularly hold sessions at the .NET community in Bangalore.

I hope to use this BLOG more regularly than my earlier one!! :-)
