Fernando at PNWSSUG
I am in Seattle all week at a MSFT meeting. I was fortunate enough to be here during a week that the Pacific NorthWest SQL Server User Group was holding a meeting.
Fernando Guerrero did a presentation on SQL Server Service Broker in SQL Server 2005. He drew some comparisons to Oracle and the 2 languages supported there (PL/SQL and Java) and the ones supported in SQL Server 2005 (T-SQL and IL). Since most any language can be compiled into IL, this gives the developers many more options. He also spoke about a recent consulting engagement where the only real solution was to use SQL Server Service Broker because it really couldn't be done in a satisfactory way without it. This is one of the things I like most about Fernando's presentation style.
If you ever near Seattle the 2nd Wednesday of the month, treat your self to attending the local user group meeting. The speakers are always of high caliber.
