Mele Kalikimaka

I'm finally getting around to joining the the blizzard of holiday well-wishing emails and blog posts this year. Here's wishing you and yours (select as many as apply from the list below):

a. A Happy Christmas
b. A Cheerful Chanukah
c. Eid Mubarak
c. Enjoyment of a unifying Kwanzaa
d. An awareful Bodhi Day
e. A top listing on the the Star God Nan Dou's good person list.

Sorry if I missed your particular religion/belief. If keeping track of seven of them is good enough for Civ4, six good enough for me. There's only so much one can remember at a culturally senstive moment, For example, I've got a friend that claims she's a Wiccan. What do I say to her? "Have Yule-self a Merry little Winter Solstice?"  And what about that odd neighbor whom seems to be a Satanist? What do say to him this time of year? "Sorry you've been cast out, here, suffer with some Fruit Cake. And leave my Cat alone."

At least I don't have to worry about having to go to any Hindu parties this month. Diwali wore me out.

Personally, I like the simple the Hawaiian greeting best of all. Short, to the point and about as laid back as you can get. And yes, its also a song. Double bonus. While I like the Reel Big Fish version the best, this Jimmy Buffet one isn't too bad.

So however you do it this holiday season, do it with love, great food, strong drink and a passion for life.
