Line of the day: What adkins addicts don't realize is that
alcoholic beverages are empty calories. Who cares about the # of carbs if
you're adding all of these nutrient-free calories from the alcohol?

Reminder: No Take Outs until 10 May 2004 as I out on vacation in the great state of Wisconsin again.
In a non-word: Ugh.
First about a rant about the client-side scheduling tool. I've given up on it. Doesn't seems to work for a bit then it gets flaky, then just gets stupid. You might want to use the server-side schedule tool instead, right? Seems like a good idea until you realize that it doesn't show you what you have in what slot. Note to EventPoint: I'm glad to be a beta tester for you in the future. Usability is a good thing!
What is with the derth or feast scheduling of SQL related sessions, too? Examples:
- Tuesday, 5:00PM slot: Joy, I have to choose between Yukon Web Services, SQL Performance and Advanced Report Authoring using SSRS. Oh, by the way, the meet the .NET authors session is going on at the same time. That's some boneheaded scheduling. I'm going to regret missing the Performance and Web Services bits for Reports Authoring, I guess.
- Wednesday, 8:30AM slot: Choose between tuning for RS and Yukon DTS. Yukon DTS wins here.
- Wednesday, 10:15AM slot: Choose between "Yukon" Setup and Deployment or 2000 Clustering or 2000 notifications. Jeesh!
I could go on, but I'll spare you that. I think I've made my point. Hopefully you noticed that I didn't say anything about conflicts on Monday. Why? I've got two or three open slots there.
Yes, its great that MS finally woke up and realized that they should provide the sessions on DVD. Thank you very much for doing that. Its a band-aid for this problem. But its a treatment for the symptom, not for the root disease. How much thought was put into scheduling the sessions by the functional role of the attendees? Had you started there, I doubt there would be much complaining.
Since I'm getting into San Diego so early, I'm thinking about taking a tour of the Ballast Point Brewing Company. Seems appropriate than since the Liar's Club (review) is (relatively) close, that we could hit that after the tour too.
Interested? Please leave a comment below.
I'm scheduled to arrive at the San Diego airport around 12:10PM on the 22nd. If you'd like to split a Cab to the "W." The Starwood seems to a free shuttle, but the web site for the "W" doesn't say either way. If you'd like share the ride there, please let me know.
Just finished upgrading to RSSBandit .112. While everything seems to be working better, I feel less cool now. You see, with the new version of Bandit, if XPATH:/rss/channel/image/url is populated with an URI to image, it renders that image in the header above the rendering of the posting. I know that's just eye candy, but its neat eye candy.
So what's my problem? .Text doesn't seem to be generating a channel logo at all, nor do I believe I can configure one. Now I look like JLAOB.
Come on Scott, time for yet another revision .Text. Not supporting a channel image URL is so... April-oh-Four. (GRIN)
