News Update
Post of the day: I love to read your code samples. I get
a real kick out of them. I love to see what other people are doing and
how they are doing it.
My co-worker Bruce and I were exchanging emails about "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintainence" when he mentioned the following items. Seems like there is much that, as "System Architects," can learn from them. What do you think?
From Ms. Meadow's item in Timeline:
Systems thinking has taught me to trust my intuition more and my figuring-out rationality less, to lean on both as much as I can, but still to be prepared for surprises. Working with systems, on the computer, in nature, among people, in organizations, constantly reminds me of how incomplete my mental models are, how complex the world is, and how much I don't know.
Everything permitting, the "Take Outs" Chow is now scheduled for Sunday 23 May 2004 at 8:30 PM at Rice @ the "W". Sorry for the rescheduling, but I wanted to make sure that everybody could get the BOF sessions if they wanted to. Kindly RSVP. Anybody that cares to join is welcome.
If you can't make it Sunday night, but would still like to meet up, drop me a note. Thanks!
Sweet, it got approved.
Session BOF 46: Yukon SQLCLR: How do we all get along?
Date and time: 25 May 2004, 8:30PM local, Room 15B
Developers: Are you worried that you won't get to use all of the features and power that SQL Server 2005's (Yukon's) CLR Integration features bring to the table?
DBAs: are you worried about what those crazy developers are going to want to do with the SQLCLR? What about those of us who live in both worlds? Rather than fretting and fussing about it, how about we get together and start building some understandings, commonalities and shared visions?
You can drop me an email or IM about this here.
