Professional ASP.NET Databases Using VB.NET

Mike Meade wrote me and asked...

I have your Beginning ASP.NET Databases Using VB.NET from Wrox. I'm looking to further improve my ASP.NET interacting with SQL Server 2000 skills, especially with respect to using stored procedures. I cannot find a Professional ASP.NET Databases Using VB.NET book from Wrox. Do you have any recommedations?

First, a thanks for Mike for actually buying that book. Working on it was great fun. I still very sad that Wrox (as we then knew it went down. I'm not working much with the new Wrox press either.

If I had to make just one recommendation for book on this topic, I don't know that I could. There really isn't much that sequentially follows that book. I think there are two books, though that should be on your list.

To the best of my knowledge, there wasn't a Pro ASP.NET VB.NET Database book even planned, let alone written. That would have been a tough sell consider the effort that was put into Professional ASP.NET. That, and there's something like twenty books that directly compete in that space.
