Take Outs: The Digital Doggy Bag of Blog Bits for 16 February 2004

In the bag tonight: Thoughts about the Source Code leak and giving credit where credit is due.

The counts: .NET: 9; Admin: 1; Blogging: 2; Dev: 7; Perl: 1; Rant: 5; Security: 1; SQL: 3; Tools: 2; Writing: 2; WTF?: 1; WILY: 3; XML: 5.

Line of the night: "A bucket of shit at 1000 mph is still a bucket of shit."

Does C++ projects ruin Whidbey?

No, this isn't going to be one of those “C++ is evil, you should use C# instead” posts. Hopefully people get the clue now that each stands on its own merits. Yes, C++ is evil. But its a good kind of evil, like listening to Megadeth at maximum volume when you're writing C++.

It is a post, however, asking if this is standard behavior. On Friday, I needed to whip up a little bit of a C++ shell program for our TechServices folks to test Certificate Services. Now when I try to start a new VB.NET or C# project, Solution explorer has just a Solution element -- no project elements. What's up with that? I'm trying a repair to see if it does.
