XQuery design controversy: What should element(foo) mean in SequenceType

I asked Micheal Rys for how the design controversy currently going on with XQuery would affect programmers like me. His repsonse really makes sense. This change isn't for the better IMHO. Why make things more complicated than they already are? XQuery might very well face have slow uptake as is because of its complexity. We don't need more.
