SQL Server and MSDE Web Interface

ASP Enterprise Manager is a web-based interface for Microsoft SQL Server and MSDE written using ASP.Net, VB.Net and C#.Net. This project was developed to allow many SQL Server and MSDE design and administration tasks to be performed from any computer with a web browser.

Below are some screens that illustrate various tasks that can be performed using the ASP Enterprise Manager for SQL Server and MSDE. This project is under development and new tasks are constantly being added and current tasks enhanced. Wherever possible, we are trying to keep the familiar look and feel of Microsoft's SQL Server Enterprise manager.

I just imported our IIS logs into our LiveStats server and I was in for a surprise. I knew that the popularity of the site was growing because we're getting more and more wonderful people contributing and starting new very high caliber blogs, but geez. I ran this months numbers to date and we're already well over 100K page views (almost breaking 200k now), this might not seem like much when compared to other sites out there, but for not really promoting the site yet I am very pleased. Not to mention, we don't even have the main site up yet.

Needless to say, I can only see the site growing and after seeing those numbers growing very large. We have a mighty fine aquisitions editor working very hard for us now (thank god) and she has already secured a lot of really great content to date. We'll be launching with some serious resources for you all!! Now for all you DotNetJunkies.com people - shes working hard on content for that also and has finally re-vamped our system so we very shortly are going to be pushing out new articles and other content on a daily basis!! Wohoo!!!!!!!!! I love it when a plan..um, site -finally comes together.

We're all very excited about the site and I hope you are looking forward to seeing the final product!

More updates soon!

Abstract:

Most of you have probably created your own SQL Server user-defined functions (UDFs), but did you know that Microsoft ships a fair number of its own UDFs, especially in the most recent SP3? In this article, Baya Pavliashvili and Kevin Kline explore a subset of them that are related to traces. Some of you may want to (re)read previous SQL Server Professional articles about traditional UDFs such as Andrew Zanevsky's September 2000 column ("Granting Wishes with UDF"), Andrew Zanevsky and Anton Jiline's October 2001 article ("UDF Performance... or Lack of It"), or Jimmy Nilsson's July 2003 article ("Another UDF: Global Constants").
