Not a lot of folks, but that was to be expected given the timing.

Since then did a PASS presentation on Profiler/DTA/Replay/Query Editor in the pre-Conf sessions. That too went pretty well. I'm really looking forward to some new talks. I really want to move away from “here are the new features” and into “Let me show you how to solve really hard problems with these new tools.” That takes time.

I can't make Alan and Bill's keynote this morning as I'm home with sick kid/wife :(

Hopefully I'll make Euan and teams presentation this afternoon. Good to see some of the folks who actually work on this stuff up on stage showing it off.

Almost ready for my PDC talk

<created>2003-10-29T09:36:00Z</created>

Talking tomorrow morning at PDC... 8:30AM on the last day... after the conference party.
One of the problems with doing a session this late in the conference is the constant tweaking of my slides. I think I'm finally done and will turn them in and get them all cleaned up.

If your at PDC and need to build code that manages SQL Server. Swing by the session. I'm totally new to the web logging thing... just haven't really caught up yet. I read lots of my friends logs and they are fun to read (ok, some are just really boring too).

Quick background on who I am.

I am a Development Manager here in Sql Server. My team is responsible for most of the management tools, both UI and object models. So for example we do Enterprise Manager, Query Analyzer, DMO, Sql Agent, OSQL, ISQL, the little tray icons, etc.

I personally have been making money in the computer field since 1981. I have done everything from sell them, integrate them, program them, consult on them, use them in manufacturing automation, build them, and on and on.

I'll be at PDC next week giving a talk on the new Yukon .Net object model and showing some cool demos.
